Todd Druse has been in law enforcement for more than 17 years, starting his career in 1992 at the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office, where he worked in the Detention Center. He left Gwinnett to work for the Auburn Police Department, where he was employed from 1993 until the department disbanded in 1997. From there he went on to the Winder Police Department. Todd enjoyed his employment at Winder, where he started on night shift patrol. A short time later he was offered an opportunity to work as a School Resource Officer (SRO) for both Russell Middle School and Winder-Barrow Middle School. He remained in that role for 3 years and is still amazed by how many of "his kids," now grown men and women, remember him as their SRO! Todd was promoted to sergeant at the Winder Police Department in 2000 and then to lieutenant in 2001. He commanded the Special Operations Division from 2000 until 2005, at which time he returned to the road to command a patrol shift. In January of this year, Todd left the Winder Police Department to accompany newly-elected Sherrif Jud Smith to the Barrow County Sheriff's Office. Todd currently serves as a major at the Sheriff's Office, in command of the Uniform Patrol Division. Todd has enjoyed his law enforcement career and is thankful for the variety of different tasks he has been able to perform in the field. His affiliation with WTV21 and "Cop Talk" has been one of the most rewarding aspects of his career and he has a lot of fun working with the crew and their guests. He and Dennis Dorsey have been longtime personal friends through their employment at the Winder Police Department and enjoy the opportunity to continue working together on their show. Todd's ultimate show guest on Cop Talk? Erik Estrada! Todd is an avid golfer, although he admits that his game still needs a lot of work! He is the very proud dad of a beautiful 5 year-old daughter, who keeps him very busy! He enjoys reading, baking (not cooking), watching old movies, and swimming.
Dennis Dorsey has been in law enforcement for almost 16 years, starting his career in 1994 at the Barrow County Sheriff's Office, where he worked in the Detention Center until being transferred to transport and court services. He left Barrow County in 1996 to work for the Winder Police Department. Dennis started on night shift patrol; however, he has worked almost every aspect within the department. Dennis’ most enjoyable role was that of a School Resource Officer at Winder-Barrow High School. During his time at the high school Dennis made life long friends with members of the facility and staff. Dennis was promoted to Corporal in 2001, and then to Sergeant in 2002. He supervised the School Resource Officers from 2002 until 2003, at which time he was promoted to Lieutenant and returned to the road to command a patrol shift. In 2007 Dennis was promoted to the rank of Captain where he serves now as the Operation Commander for the police department. Dennis enjoys working with WTV21 and “Cop Talk.” He says it is a lot harder than it looks, and respects the professionals that work in broadcast media on a daily bases. The staff at WTV21 has impressed Dennis the most. “You may not see them on camera, but they have more to do with the show than Todd and I” says Dennis. Dennis’ ultimate show guest on Cop Talk? Dirty Harry Dennis married his high school “sweetheart” Tonya Cooper Dorsey, and together they have a 9 year old daughter. When not at work he enjoys spending time with Tonya and Alanna. Dennis is a graduate of Columbus State University’s Law Enforcement Command College and holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice. He is currently working on a Masters Degree in public administration. |
