Marty McPherson graduated with highest honors from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville where she majored in Broadcasting and earned a B.S. Degree in Communications. After graduation, Marty worked as an Assignment Editor and Production Assistant at Knoxville’s ABC-affiliate, WATE-TV. In 1990, she left Knoxville to work as a Video Journalist at CNN Headline News. She later worked for CNN’s corporate division as the Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President of CNN Marketing and Creative Services.
After leaving CNN, Marty worked in various positions, including church ministry, in order to help support her family. She continued to use her broadcasting experience as a volunteer with Dr. James Merritt’s internationally-televised ministry, “Touching Lives”, and with the media ministry at Maysville Baptist Church. In October 2006, Marty began working as the Assistant Director at WCTV24 and, in April 2008, was promoted to her current position as WTV21 Station Manager. Marty is originally from Kingsport, Tennessee and enjoys songwriting, photography, and spending time with her friends and family. Marty currently lives in Dacula, Georgia. |
